Immich is the self-hosted photo and video backup solution. It replaces Google
Photos / iCloud — automatically backs up your camera roll, organizes photos by
date and location, and lets you browse, search, and share your library.
Login: Go to photos.bvoy.dev and sign in with
your bvoy.dev account.
¶ Mobile App (iOS & Android)
The mobile app is the primary way to use Immich. It runs a background backup of
your camera roll and gives you access to the full library.
- Open the Immich app
- Tap Get Started
- Enter the server URL:

- Tap Login → sign in with your bvoy.dev account via SSO
After logging in, enable automatic backup so your camera roll is continuously
backed up:
- In the app, tap the cloud icon (top right on the home screen) or go to
Profile → Backup
- Tap Start Backup to do an initial backup of your existing photos
- Toggle Background Backup on to keep new photos backed up automatically
- WiFi only: Recommended — saves mobile data
- Charging only: Optional, for large libraries
- Album selection: Choose which albums to back up (default: Camera Roll).
Tap Backup Albums to configure.
The home timeline shows all your photos in chronological order. Key navigation:
- Timeline: Swipe through your photos by date
- Albums: Organize photos into albums (yours and shared ones appear here)
- Search: Tap the search icon to search by description, location, date, or
people
- Map: View your photos on a map by location
- People: Immich auto-detects faces — you can name people and then filter by
person
- Open an album (or create one)
- Tap the share icon → Share with users
- Select other homelab users to share with
- Open an album → tap the share icon → Create link
- Copy the link to share externally (no account needed to view)
- Optionally set the link to expire
photos.bvoy.dev works in any browser. Use it to:
- Browse and manage your full library
- Upload from a computer (drag and drop into the web interface)
- Manage albums, shared content, and trash
Drag photo/video files directly into the browser window at
photos.bvoy.dev, or click the Upload button
(cloud icon) in the top toolbar.
- Duplicates: Immich detects duplicates on upload and skips them — safe to
back up the same photos multiple times.
- Original Quality: Unlike Google Photos, Immich stores originals at full
resolution with no compression.
- RAW files: RAW files (from cameras) are supported and backed up as-is.
- HEIC / HEIF: iOS HEIC photos are supported. You can choose to convert to
JPEG in backup settings if you prefer compatibility.
- Trash: Deleted photos go to the trash for 30 days. Recover from
Library → Trash.
- Storage: Your photos count against the server's storage. Don't back up
duplicates from multiple accounts unnecessarily.
