Apache Guacamole is a clientless remote desktop gateway. Access remote machines
(via RDP, VNC, or SSH) directly from your browser — no client software needed.
Login: Go to remote.bvoy.dev and sign in with
your bvoy.dev account via SSO.
After logging in, the home screen shows available connections that the admin has
configured.
- Click any connection to start it
- The remote desktop opens in your browser in full screen
- Use it like a normal desktop — mouse, keyboard, clipboard all work
Copy and paste between your local machine and the remote desktop:
- Inside the Guacamole session, press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows/Linux) or
Ctrl+Option+Shift (Mac) to open the Guacamole side panel
- The Clipboard tab shows the shared clipboard
- Text pasted into this panel can be used on the remote machine, and text
copied on the remote machine appears here
For RDP connections, you can transfer files:
- Open the side panel: Ctrl+Alt+Shift → Devices tab
- Click Home Drive to browse a virtual drive that's shared with the remote
machine
- Upload from your browser or download files to your local machine
When inside a Guacamole session, your browser intercepts some keys. Use these:
| Shortcut |
Action |
Ctrl+Alt+Shift |
Open Guacamole menu |
Ctrl+Alt+F |
Toggle full screen |
Ctrl+Alt+Shift → Disconnect |
End the session |
Full screen tip: Press F11 after opening a connection for a native
full-screen feel.
Guacamole works on mobile browsers, though it's easier on a tablet:
- Tap the screen to click
- Use pinch-to-zoom to navigate
- The on-screen keyboard appears automatically for text input
- For mouse right-click: hold the tap briefly
- Session persistence: Sessions persist on the server — if you close your
browser mid-session, you can reconnect and find the session still running
(depends on the remote system's settings).
- Multi-window: Open the same connection in multiple browser tabs to have
multiple views.
- Resolution: Guacamole auto-adjusts the remote resolution to match your
browser window size. Resize the window and reconnect to change it.
- Best performance: Use a wired connection or strong WiFi for the smoothest
experience. RDP connections generally perform better than VNC.
